Trying to diet when winter is upon us is a hard task but nevertheless I'm trying to eat more healthy and watch what I eat. With that said I will always indulge in processed and fatty foods but everything in moderation is the key.
I'm not an expert but never deprive yourself or go to extreme dieting that you can't keep up with. I'm just starting with the basic, trying to eat more vegetables, snack more healthy with nuts and berries, lots of water and at least 30 mins of exercise. As time go on hopefully I can progress into a better regime.
Today I made a organic rump steak salad, sort of. Everything was organic including the steak but the actual salad itself since I'm lazy I buy the prepackaged mix green salad from Woolworths...
Ingredients
Mix green salad including Spinach leaves
Organic Cherry Tomatoes
Organic Button Mushrooms
200 grams Organic Rump Steak
French dressing
1. Marinate the rump steak in olive oil, lime ( I prefer lime to lemon) and pepper. Cook the steak according to your preference and slice into pieces. I like my steak rare but due to my absent mind I cooked it well done plus subconsciously I didn't want to give myself salmonella.
2. Wash and cut your button mushrooms into slices then place them into a pan with butter. I then add more pepper.
3. Mix everything together with the half cut cherry tomatoes and mix greens, then drizzle french dressing (sometimes I skip the dressing). Voila!
If there's one thing you should know about me is that I love mushrooms, yes I know it has no health benefits especially cooked but I just discovered an amazing website www.cookingwithmushrooms.com
